Brazilian footballer Ronaldo has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons because he is at the centre of a scandal involving three transvestite prostitutes. After taking his girlfriend home in Rio de Janeiro on Monday night, it has been reported that Ronaldo picked up three prostitutes, not realising they were all actually men.
However, when they arrived at a motel he discovered their genders, and the transvestites reportedly attempted to extort money from the star. One of the prostitutes, Andreia Albertine aka Andre Luiz Ribeiro Albertino apparently is said to have claimed that Ronaldo had threatened to hit him when he discovered that he was not a woman. But Ronaldo is said by Rio police to have "reported that Andreia had taken his car documents and demanded $30,000." The prostitute Andreia also claimed that Ronaldo had taken drugs, and had threatened to hurt all of three. Ronaldo, however, denied in a statement that he had ever used drugs, and said he was the victim of extortion. Ronaldo was back in Brazil recovering from knee surgery and he apparently told the police it was causing him some psychological problems.
