Pouya Namvar won the UOWD intra-university pool tournament held on 26 February 2009 in the games room. Pouya played a superb game to defeat Anas Shattara with a 3-1 margin.
Earlier in the semifinals Pouya played against Roven Fernandes while Aans had a tough time defeating Fizzah Ahmed, the only female participant, in the other semifinals.
The winner received a gift voucher of AED 200 while the runner up received AED 100 gift voucher.
